What are the differences between the Colombian and the American education?

In the US we have a block scheduled, so instead of the teacher coming to the classes, we move to where the teachers are and you don’t have like a main homeroom so you make are friends along in the clases that you have, so you get to know kind of the whole grade instead of that singular class.

Also, in the US you learn only like Geometry and the next year only Trigonometry.

Do you think there is any difference between the Colombian and the American culture?

I think it’s a little bit different all over the United States but where I live, in Los Angeles, people are less nice, here everybody is nice, open and sharing but there in US there are groups, there is the popular girl and it’s big change because here everybody is open to new things.

There is any Colombian expression or tradition that you think is strange? Not really.

Why are you interested in coming to Colombia?

Well, my dad is Colombian, so I came so I could spend time with my family and want to become more immerse in the culture so I can learn Spanish.

What were your expectations of Colombia?

I expected that here would be less city and more mountains and farms instead of big buildings.

There is any place in Colombia you want to visit ?

Well, I have come here in the past and I have done many of the tourist stuff already but I really like to go the little “Pueblos” outside of Medellin.

What is the place like that you like the most?

I liked Jardín and Guatape.
